Staff, family and friends joined together for the annual Cancer Relay for Life fundraiser on June 7. The Highland Valley Copper team raised $17,700, winning the corporate award. Approximately $135,000 was raised during the day-long fundraiser that attracted hundreds of walkers/runners/joggers.

Hinton hits the nail for Legion Carpenter Hazel Houston (l) holds the gyproc as M.P. Betty Hinton hammers in a nail. The federal representative was helping build Clearwater-Vavenby Legion Branch 259ıs new hall on Tuesday. The branch stared construction with $30,000 in its building fund, said branch president Reg Chambers. Now there is nearly $200,000 worth of value invested in it. More donations are needed to complete the structure, he says.
