Inuksuk Monument, Bernierres Sur Mer France, designed and built by Peter Irniq, a spiritual elder from Iqaluit.  The unique placement of the stones direct the eye to Canada when you stand to the left and to the battlefields when you stand to the right.

It is always a pleasure to have constituents visit Ottawa.  Here Betty is pictured with 4-H Citizenship Seminar Delegate Jim Malm of Lone Butte, BC.

Betty and Justic Critic Vic Toews during his visit to Kamloops.  Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, Vic practiced law, successfully ran as a Member of the Manitoba Legislature and subsequently became the Attorney General for the Province.

Betty with Veterans in front of the gates of a war cemetary in Italy.  The Veterans, a youth delegation and politicians visited the Canadian War Cemetaries of Italy during the Commemoration of the Italian Campaign, in October, 2004.

During the Italian Campaign Commemoration Ceremonies I visited thousands of Canadian war graves.  One in particular told the story of every Canadian family that lost a child.  It read:  To the world he was only one, to us he was the only one.

WWII Veteran Ernest "Smoky" Smith visits with Betty during the Italian Campaign Commemoration Ceremonies in October, 2004 in Italy.  Mr. Smith is the only remaining Canadian recipient of the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest military honour.
